SRAAVAG SUDH SAMUH SIDHAAN KE DEKH PHIREO GHAR JOG JATI KE

I have seen Jain and Buddhist monks who consider themselves pure, I have seen the the assemblies of Sidhas with spiritual powers, and abodes of Yogis and Jatis with great self discipline.

SOOR SURARDHAN SUDH SUDHADIK SANT SAMUH ANEK MATI KE

(I have met) great warriors, demons (evil people), virtuous ones (godly people), and assemblies of saints of various religious sects.

soor: brave, warrior, surardhan: sur + ardhan, sur means gods, ardhan means destroyer, destroyer of gods, implies demons, sudh: pure, also means necter, sudhadik: necter dinking, implies gods, sant: saints, samuh: groups, anek: many, mati ke: of sects

SAARE HI DES KO DEKH RAHEO MAT, KO-U NA DEKHIAT PRAAN PATI KE
I have also seen the religious practices of various lands, but did not find any one with true love for the Master of our life, God.

Saare hi des: all the lands, mat: faith, ko-u: any, dekhiet: seen, find, pranpati: pran means life, pati means owner or master, Master of our life, God.

SRI BHAGWAAN KI BHAE KIRPA HOON TE EK RATI BIN EK RATI KE II 1 II
(But the truth is that) without love for the great Master, God, and without His grace, (all the religious practices, spiritual powers, virtuous actions) are worth nothing.

Sri bhagwaan: God, kirpa: grace, rati: love, also means an iota or very little, ek rati bin: without the love for Him, ek rati ke: worth an iota, implies worth nothing.

This is a good opportunity to memorize Gurbani, one Pauri at a time. You can concentrate better and enjoy more if you recite bani without looking at the gutka.

AADI GRANTH AND DASAM GRANTH

Guru Gobind Singh ji, before passing away, gave Guruship to Guru Granth Saheb, also called Aadi Granth" (Aadi means the first).
Guru Gobind Singh ji included the bani (writings) of the 9th Guru, Guru Teg Bahadur ji, in Guru Granth Saheb, which was originally compiled by Guru Arjan dev ji (the 5th guru).
None of Guru Gobind Singh ji's writings are included in Guru Granth Saheb. His bani (writings) are included in a separate Granth called Dasam Granth (Dasam means tenth).
Two of the five banis included in our Nitnem (the daily prayers) are written by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. These are Jaap Saheb and ten Saweyeas. Chopaee Saheb, which is included in Rehras Saheb, is also written by Guru Gobind Singh ji.

vidi-aa veechaaree taaN par-upkaaree.
jaaN panch raasee taaN tirath vaasee. (SSGS)

[Contemplate and reflect upon knowledge and you will become benefactor to others.
When you conquer the five passions (lust, anger, greed, attachment, ego), then you shall become pure like a sacred shrine of pilgrimage. ||1|| ]
